This error shows up on various Hikvision doorbell stations (such as DS-KIS603, and other similar models).
The system is usually installed correctly, but when the user presses the bell the system fails to engage.
On the door station screen, you will see an error message that reads “Connection Timed Out. Make sure the video source IP/port is correct. Error code: 10200.”
The same message will show on the phone app as well, and regardless if someone rings or not the live view will show blank, and the doorbell won’t work.
Before we dive into troubleshooting, let’s take a quick second to confirm a few things about your network setup. First, confirm that all relevant devices are connected to the same local area network (LAN).
This typically involves being physically connected to the same router or switch or wirelessly connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Second, it’s recommended to double-check the subnet mask configuration on each device.
You should get this information from your router settings, or you can do an ipconfig check via the cmd on your computer.
The subnet mask helps differentiate between the network and device portions of an IP address.
Finally, it’s important to verify that all the devices have IP addresses within the same range (for example all should be 192.168.1.XXX). Once all of these are set correctly, continue to the other suggestions.
Check the door station status
The door station needs to be online. To do so, you can search your device (the doorbell) using the SADP, the iVMS-4200, or HikCentral page
. If the doorbell is on the same network and connects correctly, it should show as Online (as shown on the screenshots below).
This is how it shows on iVMS-4200 camera management software. Go to Maintenance and Management and select the Device tab.
On HikCentral page, go to Device and then Video Intercom Device
Check the Device Network Settings
The door station (doorbell) and the indoor station should be on the same local network (LAN). You need to check these settings and ensure that the devices can see and communicate with each other.
Make sure the correct door station type/IP has been filled in the indoor station configuration.
So the IP address of the main station should be the correct one, and more importantly, set the type to “Main Door Station”.
The system won’t work if the type is selected wrong. Also, add the password for the unit.
Check that the indoor station details have successfully registered onto the door station’s device management page
You can also access and adjust these settings using the local unit. Simply navigate to Settings, then Advanced Settings, followed by Configuration, and finally Device Management.
Here, you can verify if the correct KV device has been selected as the door station.
