This article will discuss a common issue with the Hikvison DVR: the case when the recorder won’t display certain channels (for example channel 1 is missing). As you can see in the picture below, the channel 1 is not available (missing) on the menu. You can fix this issue by enabling all the channels on the Live View tab.
Hikvision DVR is missing channels (fix)
When certain channel shows up as unavailable (or missing) on a Hikvision DVR, it’s hidden by a misconfiguration on the live view settings. Follow the steps to display the missing channel on the screen.
Step 1. Go to Main Menu, login with your username and password. Click the Configuration menu.
Step 2. Click on the Live View submenu and then go to the View tab (on the top).
Step 3. Check all the channels. If the camera icon is yellow, it means that the channel is enabled for live view. Once checked the missing channels will show up on your DVR’s screen.
Step 4. Go back to the Main Menu, right click and you’ll see the missing channel showing up. For example, we had the channel 1 missing, now it’s displaying normally.
