Hikvision error code 47 shows up completely randomly on Hik-Connect or iVMS-4500 app and usually in iPhones or iPads (less on Android devices).
The live view may be working normally, all the cameras showing up and suddenly it says “error code 47” and then it logs you out from the account.
On the Hikvision error code list, this error is marked as “User does not exist. The user ID has been logged out or unavailable.”
However, the reason why this error shows up is related to a glitch on the Hikvision servers that ends the sessions after which you need to authenticate again.
How to fix Hikvision error code 47
Temporary solution for Hikvision error code 47
To temporarily fix error code 47, you simply need to reload the video stream on the app. To do that, you need to press the pause icon on the Hik-Connect or iVMS-4500 app and then restart the video again, which will make the error go away.
Another way is to close up the app and reopen it again (which means fully restarting the app, don’t leave the app in the background). Once you do that, the app will re-authenticate with the server and fix the error.
Permanent solution for Hikvision error code 47
To permanently fix the Hikvision error code 47, you need to change the local configuration for monitoring and use the “hik-domain” configuration. This will provide stable and smooth high-quality monitoring.
To modify the configuration, access the app and go to Device Manager. Locate your security system on the list and click the pen icon on top (which is the edit button). After that, on the Address bar switch the mode to “Hik-Connect Domain”.
Important Note: Take a screenshot before you change the settings, in case something goes wrong and you no longer see the cameras or your system is not set up properly with the Hik-Connect, you can go back to the original settings and still view your cameras. Using the screenshot as a reference, you can add the previous settings.
However, the fix above is the solution going around the issue. The real problem is caused by a glitch on the Hikvision server, it’s a bug on their software that they need to fix. That’s why the error doesn’t make any sense, the session expires on its own and you’re kicked out.
On an email exchange we had with the Hikvision USA support team, they acknowledged the problem and it looks like many users have been complaining to them.
According to the Hikvision team, a software fix will be available soon. Make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

Conclusion

Ensure that the Hikvision phone apps (Hik-Connect or iVMS-4500) are updated to the latest release. An update will permanently fix the error code 47 on Hikvision devices.
Great, I’ve had this hikvision glitch for a long time. But I still can’t understand how to fix it in IVMS4200, it doesn’t allow HikConnect. Thanks!
