Hiseeu recorders offer advanced features and functionalities that enable users to monitor their premises effectively. Sometimes you may need to reset the unit, thus resetting any lost or forgotten password.
This guide will provide comprehensive instructions on how to reset a Hiseeu NVR directly via the local interface.
The method shown here is not a factory default, it simply reset the admin account without affecting the recorder’s settings or even the footage.
How to reset the password on Hiseeu devices
To initiate the reset process, you need to log out of the Hiseeu recorder system first. Well, we know you don’t remember the password, but sometimes it’s saved by default and you need to log out in order to reset it.
Navigate to the home screen (on the monitor) and right-click with the mouse. A context menu will appear, and from there, select the “Logo Out” option.
After logging out, right-click the mouse again and select the “Main Menu” option from the context menu.
Within the Main Menu, locate and click on the “Forget password” option, which will further expand to reveal the “Forget answer” selection.
By selecting this option, a QR code will appear on the screen. It is important to note down this QR code, as it will be used in the subsequent steps of the reset procedure.
Next, take your smartphone and access the XMeye Pro app. This app is used to access the system and see the camera live (or playback). Normally, you should already have this app set up.
Ensure that you have the latest version of the app. Launch the XMeye Pro, and locate the “+” icon positioned at the top-right corner of the screen. Tap on this icon to proceed with adding a new device to the app.
In the following screen, you will be prompted to select the device type. Since we are resetting a Hiseeu recorder, click on the “NVR” option. Confirm your choice.
Once inside the NVR configuration interface, you will encounter a “Forgot your device password” option. Tap on this option to proceed to the next step.
Now the app will ask you to scan the QR code shown on your TV monitor (this code was generated on the previous step).
Upon successful scanning, a verification code will be generated by the software and displayed on your phone screen.
This verification code serves as a critical piece of information required to proceed with the reset process. Memorize or note down the verification code as it will be utilized in the subsequent steps.
This verification code needs to be entered on the CAPTCHA box that shows on the TV where the recorder is hooked up to.
Type in the code using the recorder’s on-screen keyboard and the system will show a prompt that allows you to create a new password from scratch.
Please note that this process may take a few minutes to complete, and it is essential to refrain from interrupting or turning off the Hiseeu recorder during this time.
In some models, the system may go back to the original default password. The thing is, Hiseeu recorders have no default password (just blank), you need to log leaving the password box blank and then the system will prompt you to create a new one.

Navigate to the Main Menu and select System, followed by Account and Modify Password.
Enter your current password for verification and then set a strong, unique password that includes a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters. Confirm the new password and save the changes.
