KKMoon is a CCTV company that sells generic H.264 DVRs, H.265 NVRs, analog HD cameras (mostly AHD) and IP cameras. These devices are sold under the KKMoon brand name.
The KKMoon DVR default account is username admin and password blank (meaning, leave it empty, don’t type anything). The same default password is applicable for KKMoon DVR, KKMoon NVR, and IP cameras as well:
- Username: admin and Password: blank (don’t type anything).
If you didn’t change the default password and still you can’t log in leaving the password field empty, then reboot and machine using the power switch at the back and try again when the unit comes back online.
If the password still doesn’t work, then you have to contact the seller and troubleshoot the issue. Additionally, you may try to reset the KKMoon password.
How to Reset the KKMoon Password?
The main way to reset the password on a KKMoon DVR is by using the reset button. Keep in mind that not all of their units come with a reset button, but you could try. Open up the DVR’s cover, you’ll see there the motherboard and the hard drive.
Locate the reset button which is a small round push-down button, usually placed on the left side of the board. While the unit is powered on, press the reset button and hold it for 20 seconds, then release it. If the reset was done, you’ll hear a beep and the recorder will automatically reboot.
Wait until it comes back online and try the default account (username: admin and password: blank). The reset will just factory default the password, the footage and other settings will not be affected.
If you’re not able to reset, then simply contact the seller or the manufacturer via their website. They’ll ask you for proof of purchase and the serial number or the DVR.
So, snap a picture of the DVR’s label to have it ready when you communicate with their tech support. Since the KKMoon DVRs and other CCTV devices are generic units, you may try the methods shown in this reset guide for H.264 DVRs. It may not, it’s worth trying if you have run out of options.
