There are various Night Owl models of DVRs and NVRs on the market that use different default username and passwords.
Actually, the newer generations don’t come with a password, you create one once you run the recorder for the first time. Below we’ve listed the default accounts and the passwords for Night Owl DVR or NVR.
Default password for the old Night Owl recorders
Try these three variants as shown below to login your DVR or NVR. They work with the old Night Owl DVRs or NVRs:
Account 1
- Username: admin
- Password: 123456
Account 2
- Username: root
- Password: 123456
Account 3
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
The default password for the latest Night Owl recorders
The new generation of Night Owl recorders are shipped out without any password or as they call the recorders are “inactive”. The end-user or the installer has to create a new password once the recorder runs up for the first time.
During the Startup Wizard, you will be able to set up the Admin Password (The default Username for the Administrator Account is “admin”).
Make sure to select a strong password that meets the requirements of your system. On some versions, on the Login Setup screen, you also will be required to enter a recovery email to be used in case you lose or forget your password.
