The Foscam FI9928P PTZ camera is quite reliable, however, sometimes you may need to reset it to factory default. A reset helps if you forgot the password or even if the camera is behaving erratically. This guide shows the steps to reset the Foscam FI9928P camera to factory default. Once reset, the username will be again admin and no password (blank).
Step 1. Power on the PTZ camera.
Step 2. Locate the movable plate located above the camera. Get the Allen wrench which you can find within the camera package in the screw bag. Take off the cover.
When two screws are loosen, please remove the plate.
Step 3. You’ll find the reset button just by the SD card slot. Press the reset button and hold on for about 15 seconds. When the camera starts to pan and tilt, that indicates the camera is reset successfully.
Once restored to default settings, the user name is admin and no password (empty/blank).
