This is a step-by-step guide on how to reset the password of Zosi NVR and this method works for the following NVR models: ZR04JB; ZR08KB; ZR08QB. It’s easy to reset the password for these models, follow the below steps carefully and you’ll be done in 5 minutes.
Step 1. Let’s say you forgot the password for your Zosi NVR. When you log in, you will see this screen the login screen as shown below.
Step 2. Enter any incorrect password to get this prompt. Just type something random on the password box.
Step 3. Position the cursor in the blank space between the error and the OK button as in the image above. You now need to click each mouse button alternating beginning with a right click. (right, left, right, etc…) On the 6th left click, you should see the below prompt appear.
One more time to make it more clear: click the mouse 6 times, starting right click, left click, and so on (six times) and it asks you to “restore default user”.
Step 4. Select “Yes” and you will be taken to the screen where you can change the password. When you enter the screen in this way, you should leave the “old password” field blank and simply set and confirm the new password.
Keep in mind:
The username must be “admin”, or else the password won’t be retrieved (if your default username is something else other than “admin”, this method won’t work). If you want to make a new password, please leave it blank in the column of “Old password”.
If you’re setting up a new password for NVR, remember that the NVR password cannot exceed 10 characters, or the NVR will not save it correctly (the reset will fail).
If this method doesn’t help you to reset the NVR’s password, take a screenshot of the screen and contact Zosi tech support team. They’ll send you a temporary password.
