There’s an easy way to share your Hikvision NVR or DVR by simply scanning the QR code on Hik-Connect app. This way multiple people can view the cameras on their phones at the same time and it’s a good solution in case you want to share your cameras with your family members or business associates. In this article we will show how to share your Hikvision device to a second phone.

Before you start make sure you have the latest version of Hik-Connect app (ensure it’s updated) and that your Hikvision device (NVR, DVR, single IP camera) is online on Hik-Connect app (on the first phone). Note that the devices can only be shared within the same region.

Share the NVR by scanning the QR code

Step 1. Open up the Hik-Connect app on the first phone. Login to the Hik-Connect account which has already added a Hikvision device. Tap the plus icon at the top right and select Scan QR code. Please note that the QR code will expire in 60 minutes.

Step 2. On the second phone, go to More, then Account Management and click My QR code. Scan this QR code with the main phone (the phone on step one). Note the second phone is the phone where you want to share the cameras to (for example your wife’s phone).

Step 3. Select the devices you are going to share and configure permissions. Then tap OK to save the settings
Once you’re done, you’ll be able to see the cameras on the second phone. The idea is that the main phone needs to scan the QR code on the second one and share the system with it. If any questions, let us know in the comment box.
