If you lost the password of your IP8332 Vivotek bullet style camera, there’s an easy and fast way to reset it. All you need to do is locate the reset button, hold it pressed and the camera will reset.
The reset button is used to reset the system or restore the factory default settings. Quite often when resetting the IP camera, the built-in software can return the camera to normal operation. If the system problems remain after reset, restore the factory settings and install again
Open up the back of the camera and you’ll be able to set a reset button. Take a look at the picture below.
- Reset: Press and release the recessed reset button with a paper clip or any thin object Wait for the IP camera to reboot.
- Restore: Press and hold the recessed reset button until the status LED rapidly blinks. Keep in mind that all settings will be restored to factory default. Upon successful restore, the status LED will blink green and red during normal operation.
Once the reset is done, access the camera with the Vivotek default admin account which is username: admin and password: 123456. Or username: root and password: blank (leave it empty). If it’s a new version, you may need to initialize the camera after the reset procedure.
