If you have purchased a Zosi CCTV security system and you’re wondering what the default admin password is, here’s the answer: for the old recorders the username is admin and the password is blank (empty).
For the newer Zosi DVRs or NVRs, there’s no default password for the admin account. They come without a password out of the factory line.
The recorder will ask you to set up a password the first time you power on the machine. So, the default username will be admin and the password is the one you’ll create once the machine is running up for the first time ever.
Note: If you lost or have forgotten the password, check this article: Zosi DVR password reset.
How to set the password on a Zosi DVR?
The software will ask you to create a password for the admin account the first time you run your newly purchased Zosi DVR.
So, the Zosi DVR has no default password, it comes uninitialized. It’s a very important step and you need to remember the password for future use.
Step 1. The interface below will be displayed when you start up the Zosi DVR for the first time. Click “Finish” if there is no need to modify any of the settings (such as time, date, language, etc).
Step 2. The next step is the Set Password interface. Create a new password and hit OK. (The password needs to have at least 6 characters and it may contain numbers, uppercase, and lowercase letters).
Note: the password you just created it’s tied to the admin account. So the username will be admin and the password is the one you just created.
My Zosi DVR came with a password
If you just bought a Zosi DVR and the machine already has a password, it means that someone else used the machine and created a password. You need to contact the seller to find out what’s going on.
Note that some small stores set up the recorders for practical reasons before selling to customers. However, this is not very common.
Additionally, you can try to reset the password by using the method linked at the start of this guide.
