It can happen that the Zosi camera doesn’t recognize the microSD card on the Zosi Smart app. You may get the message “SD Not Detected” or when you check the storage capacity of your card it shows as “0.00G”. Either way, you can’t record on it if it’s not recognized by the software.
There are several possible causes starting from a loose microSD card to a faulty one. Follow the troubleshooting tips listed below to solve the problem.
Note: These instructions apply to all Zosi cameras with microSD card slots.
Zosi: SD Card Not Detected
There may be a lot of factors that you need to consider when troubleshooting an SD card that doesn’t work on a surveillance camera.
The SD card Is Not Recognized
If the microSD card doesn’t show up on the app, remove it from the slot and format the card into FAT32 via your computer. You’ll need a card reader for this step. Some computers or laptops come by default with built-in card readers.
Once formatted, insert the camera into the Zosi camera and see if it works. If it doesn’t, ensure that the microSD card meets the camera’s requirements.
According to Zosi’s official recommendations, you may need to buy a MicroSD with the parameters listed below. It’s important to purchase a microSD card from a reputable brand such as the one reviewed here. Cheap microSD cards don’t last long and always show errors.
The card had not been properly inserted into the camera
Make sure that the microSD card is fully inserted in the slot. Take out the SD card and then plug it in again and see if it works.
The SD card is defective
Maybe the microSD card is faulty or just failed. You can test out the SD card on your computer and see whether the SD card can be read and written. If it doesn’t, please use another SD card to see if it works.
If the problem persists after going through the steps above, you may contact the Zosi support team for troubleshooting. Additionally, you may try to update the firmware on the camera. Another tip is to power cycle or reset the camera to the factory defaults.
