When you try to view the cameras on the Zosi Smart app you may get a password error message. It simply says “password error” and below a “Retry password” button.
The Zosi password error is caused by mistyping the username or password of the DVR/NVR or by entering a completely wrong password. You should either enter the correct credentials or reset the Zosi DVR or NVR and start from scratch.
Fix: Zosi password error issue
As we mentioned before, Zosi password error on the phone app means that the entered password is incorrect. Keep in mind that the Zosi Smart app password is different from the account of your DVR or NVR system.
One password is used to access the app itself and the other one is used to directly access the recorder. Don’t confuse these two accounts.
If you go to the Settings on the app you should see a red-colored Password Error message beside your recorder’s model.
Go back to the main screen and tap the “Retry Password” button.
Type the correct password of your Zosi DVR or NVR system. Enter it slowly and be careful not to add blank spaces at the end of the password/username.
If the password is correct, you should be able to view the live cameras on the phone.
If you have changed the password and already logged in to DVR on your monitor, but it still shows “Password error”, please tap “Remove this Device” and re-add it again.
Select the overflow menu/three dots on the top right corner.
Tap the Setting button (gear icon).
Select “Remove this Device”. This will completely erase the system from the Zosi phone app.
After that re-add the system to your phone. The easy way is to scan the QR code.
If you have lost the password, try to perform a password reset for your Zosi recorder. If you’re stuck, you can ask the Zosi tech team for support.
“Password Error”, “Enter Password” error happens on iPhone app downloads and not on the Android app.
iPhone app requires password entry each time you open the app, and if you delay using the app when it’s open. Entering the wrong password is not the issue. The app program has a bug.
Android app remembers the password from the first login so you never have to enter the password again each time you open the app or after long delays accessing the opened app.
