How To Solve DMSS Camera Offline Issue

Few things are more frustrating than opening your DMSS app only to see a “device offline” notification when trying to access your Dahua cameras.

Whether you rely on these cameras for home security or business monitoring, this issue can disrupt your peace of mind.

This guide provides a clear and effective solution to fix this issue, ensuring you can seamlessly access your cameras again.

The problem often arises when the P2P (Peer-to-Peer) connection status in your DVR is offline. Even if it shows as “online” within the DVR settings, there can still be glitches that require a reset.

Identifying the issue: When you try to play your Dahua Device in the DMSS app, you receive a push-up notification stating that the device you want to access is offline.

Start by accessing the DVR menu. Right-click on your monitor screen and select the main menu. After logging in, go to the “Network” menu and navigate to the “P2P” section.

We can see here the status is online. We will now try to access the application again, and it turns out that we still cannot, the message says it’s still offline.

Now, we will attempt to disable its P2P first, and then re-enable it (which avoids the glitch and resets the connection).

  • Exit the Menu entirely (must-do step)
  • Return to the “P2P” section via the Menu, re-enable the P2P setting, and click “Apply” to save the changes.
  • Exit the Menu again and return again to the P2P section.
  • Confirm that the status now reads “online.”
