This guide shows how to password reset a iDVR-PRO recorder to factory default. In case you have lost or forgotten the password for this type of DVRs, then follow the instructions below to have the password reset.
iDVR-PRO Password Reset The password reset method discusses here works for iDVR-Pro 960H models and the latest 1080P HD DVRs which include models such as: iDVR-PRO4A, iDVR-PRO8A, iDVR-PRO16A, iDVR-PRO8H, iDVR-PRO16H, etc.

If you’re not sure what model you have, it’s still worth trying to reset the password. If the reset doesn’t go through, ask CCTV Camera Pros (which markets this product line) for technical support.

How to password reset iDVR-Pro

The instructions and the screenshots below are taken from the CCTV Camera Pros website.

Step 1. Make sure that the DVR is turned off. Use the on/off switch at the back.

Step 2. Press and hold any button (select randomly) on the included infrared remote control.

Step 3. While holding the button on the remote, power on the unit (turn on the switch at the back).

Once you do that, you should hear a single beep followed by a double beep. The second you hear the double beep, press 1 2 3 5 on the remote control. If entered correctly you will hear a double beep and the DVR will begin to reboot. Note: If entered incorrectly, you will hear a sequence of about eight beeps and then a double beep to prompt you to re-enter 1 2 3 5.

Step 4. When the DVR boots up, you will be prompted to enter the password which is now the default “1234“. Using either the included infrared remote control or a USB mouse hooked up to the DVR, press Menu and then System Setup.
