If you forgot the password of your Reolink IP security camera, you can perform a hard reset and bring the password and the whole device to factory settings.
There are basically two ways to reset the lost password on a Reolink camera: restore it on Reolink software if the camera is still connected to the recorder; or, the easy way, press the reset button on the camera and recover the password right away.
In this guide, we will show the reset procedure for various models of Reolink security cameras such as regular IP cameras, PTZs, WiFi cameras, etc. The instructions come from Reolink’s official technical documents, including the pictures.

How to Reset Bullet or Dome Cameras
Applies to these models: B400; D400; B800; D800; RLC-410; RLC-410-5MP; RLC-410S; RLC-411; RLC-411-5MP; RLC-411S; RLC-411S-5MP; RLC-420;RLC-420-5MP; RLC-422-4MP; RLC-422-5MP; RLC-423; RLC-423S; RLC-511; RLC-520; RLC-522; RLC-410W; RLC-422W; RLC-511W; RLC-810A; RLC-510A.
Keep in mind that the actual interface may vary depending on specific models. Follow the step below to reset your bullet or dome cameras to factory defaults by pressing the Reset button.
Step 1. Power off the camera.
Step 2. Press the Reset button and hold it (don’t release), then power on the camera while pressing the Reset button.
Step 3. Keep holding for about 10 seconds then release the Reset button. After reset, your camera will return to factory default settings, then you can log in with the default username and password. The default username is “admin”, and the default password is blank (no password).
How to Reset Reolink Keen, C1, C1 Pro, C2, and C2 Pro
Applies to these models: Reolink Keen/C1/C2/C1 Pro/C2 Pro. To quickly reset cameras like Reolink Keen, C1, C2, C1 Pro, and C2 Pro in three steps.
Step 1. Insert a pin or needle into the reset hole (as shown in the picture).
Step 2. Press and hold for about 10 seconds, then release it.
Step 3. The camera will give reminders of reset.
For Reolink Keen, it will sound the prompt “Factory reset succeeded”. For C1, C2, C1 Pro, and C2, it will start to pan & tilt which means it was reset.
After reset, your camera will return to factory defaults. You can log in with the default username and password (the default username is “admin”, and the default password is blank/no password).
How to Reset Reolink Argus, Argus 2 and Argus Pro
Applies to these models: Reolink Argus, Argus 2, Argus Pro. Follow the following two steps to quickly reset the camera by pressing the Reset button. Once the reset is done, your camera will return to factory default settings.
Step 1. Insert a reset needle into the reset hole of your camera.
Step 2. Press and hold for several seconds until you hear the voice message “Factory reset succeeded!”, then release the Reset button.
That’s all you have to do. You’ve successfully factory reset your camera. Run the Reolink App, scan the QR code, and set up the camera again.
How to Reset Reolink Go
The following steps describe how to quickly reset Reolink Go by pressing the Reset button (the camera will return to factory default settings).
Step 1. Open up the back cover, take out the battery, and then insert it into the battery container again. This is done to ensure that the camera is powered on before the reset.
Step 2. Insert the reset needle into the reset hole, press, and hold for 5 seconds until you hear a short vocal beep.
Step 3. Release the reset needle. Factory reset will succeed and the camera will restart.
How to Reset Reolink Argus Eco
This reset procedure applies to Argus Eco. Follow the steps below.
Step 1. Power ON the camera by turning on the power button.
Step 2. Insert the reset needle into the reset hole of your camera (the yellow circle in the picture).
Step 3. Press and hold for 10-15 seconds until you hear the voice message “Factory reset succeeded. Please release the reset button”.
Step 4. Release the button and you’re done. You’ve successfully factory reset your camera. Now, turn the power button to the OFF side to turn off the camera.
After reset, your camera will return to factory defaults (including the password). You can run the Reolink App, scan the QR code and configure the camera again.
How to Reset Argus PT
Follow the steps below to reset the Reolink Argus PT camera
Step 1. Turn ON the power button to power the camera.
Step 2. Rotate the lens to find the reset hole. And then insert the reset needle into the reset hole of your camera.
Step 3. Press and hold for 10 seconds until you hear the voice message “Factory reset succeeded. Please release the reset button”.
Step 4. That’s all. You’ve successfully factory reset your camera.
How to Reset Reolink E1 & E1 Pro
Applies to these models: Reolink E1 and Reolink E1 Pro. Reolink E1/E1 Pro is different from other cameras, you need to press the reset button to factory reset it.
Step 1. Rotate the lens to find the reset button (as shown in the picture below).
Step 2. Press the reset button to factory reset the camera. Make sure to press the reset button for more than 5 seconds to factory reset all the settings.
You still can’t rest the camera?
If that’s the case, simply contact Reolink technical support and they’ll remotely help you perform the reset or send extra instructions. You may need to contact the seller/dealer first, sometimes Reolink lets them deal with the first level of support. Make sure to have the camera model information ready.
