In this article we will show how to locate the verification code from a single Hikvision IP camera. The device verification code is a code used by Hikvision camera to verify and establish the connection between the Hikvision P2P service and the camera. Here we will focus more on how to find the verification code in a single IP camera, if you have a Hikvision/DVR then consult this article: How to find Hikvision device verification code.

How to get the Verification Code for Hikvision IP camera

Method 1. You can find the verification code on the camera’s label (sticker). Go to the IP camera’s label on the back and on the sticker you will find information regarding your camera, such as the model number, specs, including the verification code (for example ABCDEF).

Method 2. Check the verification code via a web browser or the iVMS-4200 software. Log in to the camera via web browser (use Internet Explorer) or add the camera via the iVMS-4200 software. Go to Configuration > Network > Advanced Settings> Platform Access section. Click the eye icon and get the verification code (as shown in the picture below).

Method 3. Get the verification code via secureCRT. This method is more complicated and it’s the last resort in case you still can’t find the verification code for your camera.

Download and install these two tools on your computer:
• secureCRT
• Device Network SDK

Step 1. Run the Device Network SDK tool and Enable SSH of IPC.
1. Add the camera to the ClientDemo tool. Enter the IP address of the camera, port number, password and click add.

2. Choose the camera and find the path: Product Related > IPC/IPD CFG > Device Server > SSH. Choose Disable Server and click Set to save the settings (check the picture below).

Step 2. Login into the camera via secureCRT tool in SSH.
1. Click Quick Connect.
2. Enter the camera’s IP address, username, and click Connect (consult the picture below for the rest of the settings).

3. Click “Accept Once” or “Accept&Save” and enter the camera’s password.
4. Input “showKey” and press the “Enter” button, the so-called permanent code is the IP camera’s Hikvision verification code for the camera.

If you still can’t locate the verification code on a Hikvision camera, then it’s recommended to ask the seller/dealer for support.
