How to Factory Reset Ring Stick-Up Camera

There are various ways to reset your Stick Up Camera, but the ease of each method depends on the type of camera you have and its features.

Understanding which method suits your camera is important, so it’s helpful to know all the available approaches.

Should your camera lose power and cease responding to commands, it’s likely that the battery has completely drained, rendering the device unable to power on.

In such a situation, your immediate action might be to replace the battery to restore power and resume recording capabilities.

Follow the steps below to reset the Ring stick-up camera.

Ring Stick Up Cam (1st Generation)

  • Open the small cover at the back and locate the orange setup button.
  • Hold down the button for 20 seconds.
  • The front of the camera will flash for several minutes. When the light turns off, the reset is complete.

Ring Stick Up Cam Battery (2nd Generation)

  • Open the battery cover.
  • Find the orange setup button.
  • Press and hold the setup button for 10 seconds.
  • The camera’s front light will flash for several minutes. When the light turns off, the reset is complete.

Ring Stick Up Cam Battery (3rd Generation), Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-in

  • Open the battery cover.
  • Locate the orange button.
  • Press and hold the setup button for just 10 seconds.
  • After the reset, the camera will enter setup mode.

Ring Spotlight Cam Battery

  • Find the setup button on the top of the camera.
  • Hold down the setup button for 10 seconds.
  • The light will flash for several minutes. When the light turns off, the reset is complete.

After resetting your security camera, if you’re giving it to someone else, you’ll need to remove the device from the Ring app:

  • Go to the home screen and tap the gear icon for your Security Camera.
  • Tap on Device Settings.
  • Then, tap on General Settings.
  • Finally, tap on “Remove this Device”.

Reset Ring Stick Up Camera using the Ring app

  • Download and install the most recent version of the Ring app.
  • Log in with your existing account or create a new one if you haven’t already.
  • Provide a nickname and password for your Stick Up Camera, then proceed by selecting “I agree.”
  • Navigate to Devices > Search Device > Choose “My Devices” > Select your Stick Up Camera > Tap Factory Reset.
  • You’ll receive a notification when the factory reset is complete.
  • To ensure your device has the latest updates, tap Update Device.

Reset the Ring Stick Up Camera Using the Device Itself

Ensure your device is in the range of a power source and install the latest version of the app on your iOS or Android mobile device.

  • Open the app and either create a new account or log in to your existing account.
  • Access the device settings in the app by tapping “Devices” > Search Device > Select Stick Up Camera > Factory Reset (Tap).
  • Once the factory reset process is finished, proceed by tapping “Update Device” to apply any available updates.
  • You’ll receive a notification when the factory reset is complete.

Now, your Stick Up Camera has been reset to its original factory settings and is ready for setup on another mobile device.

  • Reach out to Ring Support for assistance.
  • Consider troubleshooting steps before performing a factory reset.

Resetting your Ring device to its factory settings might not resolve issues related to your internet connection or router. Before initiating the reset, there are several steps you can take if your device is unresponsive.

If you’re using an Alarm Panel with Z-Wave capability, it’s advisable to start by updating the firmware. Access the Ring mobile app to perform this update for your Alarm Panel.

To update the device firmware, navigate to the Device Settings on your Alarm Panel and select Update Firmware.
It’s also important to ensure your device has sufficient available storage space.

For users employing an Alarm Panel with Z-Wave functionality, firmware updates need to be conducted through the Ring mobile app.
