As you may know, the Hik-Connect app is not available on the Google Play Store anymore which means users can no longer update directly their app. Hence, when there’s a new update, it won’t be downloaded and installed automatically.
In order to update the Hik-Connect on your Android phone to the latest version, you need to go to Hikvision’s App Store and download it over there, and then with that file update the app you have installed on your phone.
This step-by-step guide shows how to properly update the Hik-Connect on an Android phone by using Hikvision’s App Store.
How to manually update Hik-Connect on Android phone
Step 1. We assume that you have already installed the Hik-Connect app on your phone. Open it up and tap the Upgrade Now button in the popup. If you don’t see the popup, this link of the Hikvision App Store will direct you to the official update page.
Step 2. Once on Hikvision’s App Store, select Android on top and then click the Download button of the Hik-Connect app (as shown in the picture). The downloading file will be .apk format.
Step 3. Click Download when the message box shows at the bottom of your screen. The file is safe since it’s coming from Hikvision’s own app store.
Step 4. On the next window click the Install button that shows up at the bottom of the screen.
Step 5. After this, the installation process will begin and you can monitor it via the progress bar. Wait until it’s completed.
Step 6. Once you see “App Installed” then you’re pretty much done. Now you have the latest version of the Hik-Connect app installed on your phone.
From here you can either tap Open to launch the app or Done and get back to the previous screen. If y You should now have the latest version (V4) of Hik-Connect installed on your device.
Note: If your screen doesn’t say App installed, as shown above, it means that the app wasn’t updated or installed properly and you need to re-do the process one more time.
