This guide shows how to pair a Swann IP camera to the Swann Security app. Usually, Swann Security app, available on both Android and iOS devices, is used to pair many of Swann’s new products like the Wi-Fi Floodlight Security Camera, Spotlight Outdoor Security Camera, Wire-Free Security Camera and Pan & Tilt Security Camera.
The same app is used by Swann recorders such as NVR-8580 and DVR-5580 for remote viewing once the internet connection is established. Note: The camera used on this guide is a SWIFI-ALERTCAM. Other compatible cameras will have a similar setup and logic.
Pair a Swann IP camera to Swann Security app
Before we start, you need to download the app on your phone and also register an account (via the app) which is an account for the app itself. Also, for faster setup, connect your phone to the WiFi where you wish to set up the camera to. (Note: Disable the 4G/LTE/5G connection on your phone, simply use the same WiFi as the camera).
Step 1. Tap Menu (upper left) then select Pair Device. Tap Start.
Step 2. Once you reach this page, enter the WiFi named and the password on the Password and Confirm Password fields then tap Next.
Step 3. Set the camera to Pairing mode by pressing and holding the reset or pair button. Once the LED is blinking blue, release the button. Tap Next.
Step 4. Your phone will now connect to the camera’s WiFi. Tap Start to proceed.
Step 5. You will get this message once setup is complete (Congratulations…etc).
Once you see that, you’re pretty much done and you can try to see the live view of your Swann IP camera.
