Did you forget your password for your UNV camera? In this step-by-step guide we will be covering what information is needed to generate a master password, where to get that information and how to do the password reset procedure on Uniview (UNV) camera.
Step 1. Attempt to log in with the default passwords. Use the following accounts to log in to your camera.
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
If the above is unsuccessful, use this other account:
- Username: admin
- Password: 123456
Step 2. Use the reset switch on the camera’s board. Press and hold the reset button for 20 seconds, then release. The camera will reboot and go back to factory settings.
Caution: using the switch to reset the password on a camera will factory default the camera. All configuration settings, including users and networking information will be permanently deleted.
Not all the Uniview cameras have a reset button, but most of them do. For example, the Uniview models below come with a reset button on board.
IPC268ER9-DZ
IPC2122SR3-PF36
IPC2124SR3-DPF36
IPC3232ER-DV
IPC3232ER-VSIPC3232-DUV
IPC3232-DUVZ
IPC3234SR-DV
IPC3238ER3-DVZ
IPC6252SR-X33U
IPC6852SR-X44U
After the camera boots up, attempt to log in to the cameras using the default account listed on Step 1.
Step 3. Request a temporary password through Uniview technical support. Before contacting technical support, locate the serial number of the camera.
This can be found with the EZTools software, or on a sticker on the camera. Serial Numbers are designated with “SN:” before them on the sticker. They should be 20 digits in length, and begin with “210”. This article will help.
